We’re excited to share with you some of our favorite photos from a recent Island House wedding with Allison and Tom! Since the couple met and became engaged in Charleston, it only made sense that they return to the city where their love story originated. Self-described as fun and laid back, a casual wedding steeped in Southern charm was only fitting. Beginning the day with Allison as she got ready, Priscilla snapped several beautiful photos of the laughing bride-to-be, her gorgeous mermaid styled lace gown and her sparkling diamonds. Allison looked absolutely stunning, the perfect dress complimented by a peach rose and berries bouquet. Tom and his groomsmen looked quite dapper in their tan suits paired with peach ties and pocket squares.
The waterfront ceremony was simple yet gorgeous with white rose petals leading the way to a bamboo arbor decorated with billowing white fabric and peach and white roses. A chalkboard sign invited guests to sit where they pleased as soon they would all be family anyways, furthering the fun-loving appeal of the event. After a beautiful ceremony, Priscilla stole the newlyweds away for a few portraits, including one in the wildflowers field, a unique feature of this waterside venue. After a brief stop on a private dock for some beautiful shots of the couple with marshland behind them, everyone was off to a gorgeously decorated tented reception!
Before the reception began, we were able to take some beautiful photos of the details, including monogrammed burlap table runners and floral centerpieces that featured hydrangea and cafe au lait dahlias. The bride’s and groom’s chairs were adorned with burlap ribbons garnished with cotton blossoms. Wicker round lamps hung from the ceiling and the cake featured a wicker heart. When Allison and Tom arrived, everything kicked into high gear and they were all smiles for the rest of the evening. They shared their first dance as a couple and even gave us a little kiss with the sun setting in the background. An impromptu game of cornhole even popped up, a lawn game the pair also included at their rehearsal the evening before at Three Little Birds Cafe. An colorful array of glow sticks were handed out throughout the night and, as they headed off for the evening, Allison and Tom did so underneath a glowing arch provided by their family and friends.
We want to say congratulations to you two again and thank you for the many laughs and memories from your wedding. We wish you both the best as you begin this new chapter together!
