One of Charleston’s premier wedding venues, Magnolia Plantation offers a stunning waterfront and beautiful gardens perfect for natural wedding themes. A Magnolia Plantation Veranda Wedding features all of the natural beauty of the plantation with a bit of intimacy and southern charm for the ideal wedding day. Meeting in college at the University of Georgia, Caroline and Ben didn’t hit it off immediately but when the sparks flew, it was a shower and love has conquered all since then. They envisioned a small wedding surrounded by the beauty of the plantation, and their fun personalities coursed throughout every aspect of the day. Priscilla was greeted by a room full of laughter when she arrived to capture the day’s events. The bridal party were bustling about, getting Caroline ready for the ceremony. A lace embroidered gown paired with strapped open toe shoes was the perfect look for the day Caroline envisioned. She was stunning.
Not far away, decked out in a grey suit with pale blue tie, Ben awaited Caroline’s arrival. Lines of chairs stretched out on either side in front of him, with signs inviting guests to sit wherever at the very back. Behind him, a clearing flanked by sprawling oaks created a gorgeous natural backdrop for the vows. We love the flower girl, she was so adorable in her white and lavender dress. When Caroline arrived, a hush fell over the crowd as she looked amazing. After exchanging vows, and a few tears, she and Ben sealed the deal with the combining of sand and a sweet kiss. Priscilla barely managed to steal the newlyweds away for their portraits but we’re so happy she did. The moments on the iconic white bridge were so lovely but we adore the two holding onto one another on the oak lined path. Their love and emotion was palpable and it shone through in their smiles.
On the veranda back at the plantation house, white linens coupled with lavender roses and white chrysanthemums created an open and inviting atmosphere. Arriving guests were treated to a whimsical popcorn bar, remind us that even when life gets a bit salty, love is always sweet. And as night began to fall, the newlyweds made their long-awaited entrance and shared their first dance underneath the warm glow of string lights. They looked just so amazing holding onto one another with the plantation’s beautiful trees stretching into the distance. The party roared long into the night but the newlyweds were longing for a new adventure by themselves and departed beneath a shower of sparklers – a fun end to such a romantic day.
