I’m excited to share some of my favorite moments from this Carriage House Wedding! Kaitlyn and Matt’s love story begins almost a decade ago where the two met at a birthday party while attending University of Georgia. The couple are a perfect balance with Matt’s natural outgoing and friendly attributes and Kaitlyn’s more reserved yet always up for a good time ways. With a mutual love for travel and the great outdoors, these two have kept quite busy over the years. But their greatest journey to come started in October. That perfect fall day is when Kaitlyn and Matt wed. They’ve committed to a lifelong adventure in marriage.
The sunny skies and tempered fall weather made for the perfect day to have a wedding. The couple chose to have a destination wedding with festivities held at the Carriage House at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. The rustic venue mimics the outdoors with its hunter green exterior and exposed wooden beam interior. The gravel patio and outdoor fire pit offer a great space for mingling over cocktails. The Ashley River gently flows in eye-view as oak tree branches reach out towards the water. The natural surroundings make for an incomparable backdrop for event hosting.
The arched flower arbor created a focal point for the ceremony. All eyes were on Kaitlyn and Matt as they exchanged vows and rings surrounded by a ring of all white florals. Sealed with a kiss, the two were wed. I love when guests cheer and clap for the newlyweds. But before Kaitlyn and Matt could continue to the celebration, I whisked them away for some sunset couple portraits. Even when couples opt for a first look and most portraits completed pre-ceremony, I still like to take them out for a few pics after the ceremony.
The reception design was whimsical elegance. Colors of blue, white, and gold created an inviting atmosphere for all. And the hanging wedding cake and dessert table was storybook charming to say the least. The unique spacing of the Carriage House calls for creative seating. I love how Charleston Wedding Studio arranged the space by using various tables that included family style, round, and of course a sweethearts table for the couple. Round tables held lush floral spray centerpieces while the family style table was dotted with eclectic flowers and vases. Wedding favors of wine corkscrews awaited each guest – a perfect nudge to get friends and family ready to celebrate.
Congratulations Kaitlyn and Matt! Your wedding was festive and love abound. Thank you for having the PTP team document such a special day in both of your lives!
