Sharing highlights for a beautiful William Aiken wedding! Charleston’s historic homes make gorgeous wedding venues and the William Aiken House is no exception with its period architecture, gorgeous outdoor space, and southern feel. For Lauren and Daniel, it was the perfect place for their timeless destination wedding. This Ohio couple wanted a summer wedding to celebrate not only their love, but their favorite season.
Lauren was stunning in her strapless gown with a layered train and silver jeweled belt at the waist. She exuded elegance as she ventured to the courtyard to meet with Daniel for their first look. The groom was very handsome in his traditional blue tux accented with bow tie. Daniel was all smiles when he turned to see Lauren. Their joy shone as they took in the moment with hugs and a kiss. The couple explored the William Aiken grounds and surrounding area for some quick portraits. We were elated that their wedding was featured on the American Theater marquee! Afterwards, the wedding party wanted in on the action and everyone was laughing and cutting up before the end, excited for the ceremony that was about to begin.
One favorite feature of their wedding was having the grandmothers as the “flower girls.” So sweet to see these women have a significant role in the ceremony. It brought them such joy! As Lauren made her way down the aisle, her mom wiped away some tears and Daniel looked on as he’s soon-to-be wife was almost by his side. The couple shared vows, a candle lighting ceremony, and a passionate embrace to seal their marriage before friends and family. After the nuptials was time for the celebration!
Tables covered in cobalt blue and white linens complimented perfectly with the natural aesthetics of the venue. We simply adore the Italian blue vases that were incorporated on tabletops. The crowd was scattered throughout the house and grounds as the reception got into full swing, and we loved the hi-energy guests brought to the dance floor even on a hot summer day. The laughing never stopped and the dance floor stayed packed. Lauren and Daniel concluded the festivities with a bubble departure and a ride in a classic Bentley. Before darting off to the after party, the newlyweds wanted to capture more portraits around beautiful historic Charleston! An idea that a photographer will always love!
Thank you so much for bringing us along for all of the festivities during your wedding day!
